We require four working days (excluding weekends) following date of order for cakes ordered using our Create a Cake system. You can, of course, place your order much further in advance. The cake order calendar will not allow you to order outwith the required order time.
Your cake will be available for collection from 10am on the date of collection.
Please see the opening hours for our individual shops on the Bakery Locator page. You can access this from the main menu at the top of the page.
We do not have a delivery service available, but have a network of shops located in convenient sites in town and city centres in the East coast of Scotland. Our exact locations are shown in the Bakery Locator page which you can access from the main menu at the top of the page.
Our sales policy and more information about ordering, cancelling orders and amending orders can be found by viewing our Terms and Conditions. During the ordering process, you will be asked to acknowledge that you have read and understood these. We have deliberately written our Terms and Conditions so they are easily understood, and would ask you please to read them carefully before placing an order.
When we receive your order, it will be checked over by a member of our staff. It is very important that you provide us with accurate contact details that we can be sure to get in touch with you on in case there are any obvious mistakes, in which case we will call you back. If you spot an error after ordering, phone us directly at our head office, and we will make sure the change is made to your cake providing you call us before the cake has actually been made and decorated. We cannot however be held responsible for errors made during the cake ordering process which are not spotted until the cake is collected, or are as a result of us being unable to contact you, so please make sure you check through your order details carefully before placing your order.
Quite simply ring our office number 01382 730181 and we will make any necessary changes, provided the changes are phoned before the cake has been made. Our office is open from Monday to Thursday 8.30am-4.30pm, Friday between 8.30am and 3.30pm. The office is closed at weekends.
Our payment system is operated directly through the bank using a recognised secure system. We receive a notification from the bank if the payment has been accepted, but neither receive nor hold any credit card information ourselves.
Nut Allergies:-Â Although our cake recipes do not contain any nuts or soya, we do not have isolated production areas from our general daily production in our bakery, so all products may contain traces of tree nuts or soya. We therefore do not recommend our cake if you suffer from a tree nut or soya allergy. No peanut or peanut derivatives are used in our production at all.
Gluten Allergy (Coeliac):- All our cakes contain gluten and are therefore not suitable for those who are allergic to it.
Dairy Products:- All our cakes contain egg and dairy products and are therefore not suitable for those who are allergic to them.
Food Colourings:- Some of the colourings used in the edible inks for our celebration cakes may contain the following permitted food colours: Tartrazine, Sunset Yellow, Carmosine. Tests have shown that these colourings may have an adverse affect on activity and attention in some children. Our own trials using alternative natural food colourings for these colours were very disappointing in terms of the finished visual effect of the cake.
Your cake will be delivered to the shop in a lidded cardboard box.
When ordering from our Design a A Cake facility, the image shown at the end of the ordering process is a close approximation to the cake you will receive. However, as each cake is individual, and the relative dimensions of different cake sizes vary slightly, there will likely be some variation in layout and the way in which your image is cropped. We always endeavour to keep changes to a minimum.
Colours displayed on screen depend on the individual screen they are viewed on and the individual display settings chosen, so identical colour matches are not possible.
We bake and decorate our cakes so you receive them as fresh as possible. While cake may well last longer, we recommend that our cakes are eaten within five days of purchase. To ensure your cake keeps as fresh as possible, cover it in foodsafe clingfilm once it has been cut and store it in a cool, dry place if possible. Please remember NOT to store cake in your fridge, as, like bread, this will cause it to stale quickly!
Unfortunately it is not currently possible to pick up a cake at our Scotmid pick up points. You can pick up your cake at any of our bakeries found on the bakery locator. We are looking to expand on these options in the future.
